Haryana is one of the leading state in sports as well. Haryana is the traditional powerhouse in games like kabbadi, kho-kho, judo , boxing and wrestling. At the recently concluded Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics, Haryana contributed most with athletes from the state accounted for 9 medals (out of total 26 medals won by India) across the two competitions. This included the Olympic gold won by Neeraj Chopra and the Paralympic golds from Sumit Antil and Manish Narwal. In fact, over the last decade and a half, at all multi-sport games, Haryana athletes have routinely contributed one-third of the total medals.

During the 33rd National games held in Assam in 2007 Haryana stood at no.4 with a medal tally of 80 incliding 30 gold 22 silver and 28 bronze medals. Sports in the state are managed by the Department of Sports & Youth Affairs, Haryana. Nahar Singh international cricket stadium in Faridabad was built in 1981.The ground has a capacity of to hold around 25,000 people The Tau Devi Lal Stadium in Panchkula is a multi-sport complex. The ground came into prominence because of the Indian Cricket League 's inaugural Twenty20 tournament. The DLF golf course in Gurgaon offers challenging play for golfers of all skill levels and a natural beauty that envelops your senses.

Recreation

Haryana is home to 40 recreation / outdoor places. The top recreational places include Sultanpur Bird Sanctuary, Damdama Lake and Sultanpur National Park. Other places such as Leisure Valley Park in Gurugram and Badkhal Lake and Nahar Singh Stadium in Faridabad are also popular with the people of all age groups....
